Mark and I have been on "le regime" for 11 months.
He's lost 22lbs, and I have lost 18lbs.
he was told by his Dr that he must lose weight, as he had raised blood pressure. We were/are both very big, and knew it was time to do something.
We eat wonderful food, less of it, which took a few weeks to get used to. Gave up butter (for the first few months, we now have it now and again) and changed our eating times. Main meal was moved from 8pm, to 4pm ish..always try to make sure it's done before 6ish. Reduced what we eat for lunch, so 1 and half sandwiches, no butter on the bread. Or Pitta breads filled with salad, some dressing and meat or cheese.
All cooking is done with less oil than a recipe might suggest.
No fat yoghurt for dessert 8 out of 10 days.
No takeaways where we live, the nearest McD's is 40 mins away. So, if we eat, it has to be prepared and cooked by me.
AND, this is important for anyone wanting to lose weight.
IF you are entertaining, or a guest somewhere, or have one of those "I need to eat days"...eat what you want. Don't make anything a no no, just be aware that you can have what you enjoy, but less times, or in lesser quantities. Oh and, prepared food is higher in all those things that are bad for you, so preparing food from scratch is far healthier and you control what you eat.
I have never enjoyed a "diet" so much, this isn't a "diet" for us, it's a complete lifestyle change that is forever.
