What to do with Rib Eye?

I bought a lovely bit of rib eye steak in Tesco's as I've heard it has a nice flavour. I now need to do something with it... any ideas??? Maybe a sauce or coating?

I plan on having potato wedges, mushrooms and peas with it.

Oooh Chris Evans had a butcher and then a steakhouse owner on his show the other week and both said that Rib Eye is the best steak to have.

They say grill it. Make sure the one side is cooked before turning over so you only turn it once.

If you like it you could have peppercorn sauce with it. Or maybe just some mayonaise to dip the wedges in - yummy

Thanks Wendy... will try and grill it then, although need to cook wedges at the same time so could be a bit awkward! :?

We are having rib eye as well, it has a lovely flavour in my opinion better than sirloin. Just grilled with onion rings, mushrooms and new spuds tonight.

I am just IMing with my sister. She still lives with our mum and so doesn't cook much but now she has a boyfriend she cooks for him occasionally. She said she is cooking steak tonight so I asked her what steak she had got and she answered Aberdeen Angus! I asked her what cut but she didn't know. Turns out it is a dish from M&S where the steak and gravy are in a foil tray and you just shove it in the oven.

Bearnaise Sauce is lovely with a good steak JO. Very rich though...I made it once. But have since bought it in jars :D You should find it in the same place as Horseradish Sauce, Apple Sauce and Mint Sauce.

Since trying ribeye after eating it in the States on holiday I wouldn't dream of buying sirloin again - it's so much tastier and more tender and doesn't need much embellishment at all really!

Ours was delicious last night.

My sister says her boyfriend enjoyed the M&S steak thing so I suppose that's all that matters. Personally when I cook for my boyfriend I like to make the effort to cook from scratch - as I heard a chef say on the radio last night, the most important ingredient is LOVE ahhh

Mine was ok but didn't have much flavour... maybe it's just my cooking, or my tastebuds as everything is tasting pretty bland to me right now!

next time try a nice stilton sauce-very easy....bit of milk, when boiling ue a touch of white sauce powder from bisto as a naughty little cheat then crumble some stilton into it to flavour and drizzle it over your steak or just put some stilton on it and let it melt under grill-not a big fan of blue vein stilton but is yummy on steak as really helps bring out the flavours of steak-provided u don't use too much of course as otherwise the stilton overpowers it!!

Spooky sparky - I don't like blue cheese just as it is, the idea of eating it just on a cracker or summat makes me retch. However, I do like blue cheese sauce and cooked blue cheese - I think it is that the cooking takes away that metallic moudly smell!

probably-most people i know are the same...liking it cooked but not on its own...very strange
