Wetherspoons - Folkestone

A quick review of this one... DON'T GO THERE, IT'S DISGUSTING!!

I went here on Sunday with Dan. I had the steak and ale pie with mash and veg and Dan had sausage and mash. Well my veg were cooked within an inch of their lives, the leeks as well... the mash tasted like packet mash and my pie pastry was so hard I could only eat the middle, then there wasn't much middle. Dan's sausages looked cremated!!!

I didn't eat all mine and actually felt physically sick when we left... I will not be eating here again. q8

The Wetherspoons near to me is the same - I went with my Mom and both of our dinners looked like they had be microwaved to within an inch of their lives.... but they were COLD!!! Horrible, and not the only Wetherspoons we have been in where the food was awful...

Sounds like you both need to write a letter of complaint to HQ. It's terrible if they're dishing up really bad food q11 q11

To be honest, I've ben known to go hungry rather than risk a Wetherspoons! Noooo, thank you!

That's a shame you've had bad experiences with the chain.  We often go to two out of the three we have in Plymouth, and they've always been good, if predictable.

We based ourselves in Reading during last summer, for travelling around and we always had breakfast in Wetherspoons - much cheaper and more plentiful than the Travelodge we stayed in.

We have had some bad experiences at Beefeater restaurants though. They are good at putting things right if you complain at the time.  Although I was fully compensated for one time (four of us) when I emailed later to complain, they sent vouchers which more than covered the cost of the four meals.

Wetherspoons is never going to be the best place for food but I'm on a singles forum and organise events/meet ups and once every 6 weeks we meet at the West Quay Brighton marina for lunch. No its not the best place to go but as they don't take bookings its ideal for us as I never know exact numbers, could have 20 turn up but could be 50 and nowhere else could we do that. Anywhere else would want definite numbers and probably a deposit.
And actually my veggie burger yesterday was quite good.
