Those were the Days......Does anyone remember anything foodie they had when they were young, and never see it about these days. A few that come to my mind are:
Activite - a choc flavoured vitamen granule, that my mother used to sprinkle in our sandwiches. Activite sandwichs.
Stuffie (what we called it) - Boil sugar and water together and add this gross heavily coloured liquid bought in bottles to it to make your own squash.
Toffee in patty papers - made with brown sugar, butter, water and spot of vinegar. Sets rock hard and sold in the school playground.
Ginger beer - ginger beer plant (think it was ginger, sugar and something else), left to ferment and put in the big beer bottles and capped. If you were unlucky after several weeks of storage, some exploded, if lucky then it was a strong ginger beer.
I am sure I will think of more.......

None of those sound familiar at all! Will have to give this some thought and return...

Cremosa foam (I think that's what it's called!) it came as powder in a tub and you added it to water and it made a frothy drink.
Tab clear, the clear coloured coke.
Chocolate covered pretzels, I think Nestle made them.
That's all I can think of for now!

Not strictly food but they go in the mouth. I know, a typical male statement.
Black Jack chews (2 for an old penny)
Imps - tiny menthol / liquorice pillow shaped things in a black and red packet.

Have you all read Toast by Nigel Slater, it is all about this kind of memory.
