Silicone bakewareI bought a silicone baking dish a few months ago, and used it for the first time today, for my chocolate cake.
Very impressed...no sticking, no greasing or lining. Washed up easily...just feels really weird to put something like that in the oven

Yes, I have a silicone muffin tray (now, why does that sound a bit rude?) I was convinced it would melt but it was fine - but the muffins were a bit disappointing (that sounds rude too!!)
The blueberries all sank to the bottom - well the top, when they were turned out.

My chocolate cake was poor too
Maybe it's the silicone.....and not my bad cake making skills, after all

I assume the recipe/method/cooking time, needs to be adapted more than they suggest.
The speed of heating a silicone tray to the optimum temp, is different to that of a metal pan, and perhaps a silicone container retains more moisture than a traditional one.
So I guess we still have to experiment a bit.

For about 30+ years I have regularly made boiled fruit cakes using the the metal small loaf tins. I decided to treat myself to one of the silicone ones, the cake was horrible, although the skewer came out clean the cake was very heavy and stodgy.
Tha silicone pan is now at the back of the cupboard and I've gone back to using the metal tins.

Oh right, it does sound like that is the problem.
