Paper doilliesHave you read in the daily paper that paper doillies are on the way out. Asda only sold 400 packets last year. I used to use the doillie a lot and it was not unusual to have a few in the cupboard, but I cannot remember when or why I do not use them now.
We will have to restart the trend......

Yes used to be plain for savoury and fancy for sweet, also used the fancy ones to put a pattern with a dusting of icing sugar on sponge cakes, I haven't seen one in years !

I've never seen a doillie in use  Well, not it's proper use anyway.
I might get some to make a pattern with icing sugar on a cake. They're used a lot in kids' crafts, so I'll no doubt use them for that purpose too. :)
