Yuk - I'd never heard of them but I did see Basa on sale in Sainsbury last week, and it's the same thing. I'll have a look at the label more closely when I go in there next.
I just didn't fancy it, and fortunately didn't buy any. Our local stuff is better, but I do worry about the pollution from the dockyard.
It reminds me when my Mum had mussels in Honfleur. She was crunching what she thought was bits of grit in them. It was only later we found out about pea-crabs which are tiny parasites which live on the mussels!!
So glad I don't eat seafood other than fish.

found a smoked fish in tesco yesterday from Vietneam but I cannot remember the name something like river dabbler (but not ) I was going to search on the net to see if that was treated the same way ,

The Sainsbury Basa claims, on the label, that it is farmed in fresh water - but I still don't fancy it.
Even the name isn't appetising - Basa sounds like war-torn Basra and Pangas - well Fishy Tangas perhaps?
