hardly but with blue skin and black bones we don't fancy eating them, though I am told they taste like pheasant we do have 8 guinea fowl chicks and the males are destined for the table

Awww, they look so cute when they're that little... I don't think I'd wanna eat them if they have black bones and blue skin, how strange!

ooh Gilly, that's a late hatch.....hmm, am thinking i could be using my fertile eggs for table birds now rather than for quiche

I bought a trio of Black minatures from Kittoch and he gave me these 6 eggs (the last 1 was only half formed )I put 1 of mine in as probably an old wives tale but I was told odd numbers mean the hen turns the eggs more evenly !!! I have them in the greenhouse which has automatic vents and they have a broody to keep them warm, maybe you could convert 1 of your buildings ? they have a run 2ft x 10ft so that should keep them ok for a while and as soon as the toms and cuccumbers finish they can have all the floor space

They're so cute-but haven't they got big beaks!?

Oh dear.....I can feel slippery slope coming on......I already have 2 coops at this end of the garden, and we heated one of them for the Sasso's earlier this year. It would mean I can incubate some more table birds now instead of waiting til Feb.
Perhaps I should go and see what the others say on the Poultry forum
