Mushrooms

Has anyone used mushrooms as a health supplement? Have been interested in this one, so think I may investigate further, but would love to hear from anyone who has had any personal experience with it-

"Red Reishi (Ganoderma Lucidum), commonly known as Ling Zhi in Chinese, is a herbal mushroom known to have miraculous health benefits. Extracts from shiitake mushrooms have been researched for many other immunological benefits, ranging from anti-viral properties to possible treatments for severe allergies. Maitake helps to boost immune function ans has numerous clinical data on tumour inhibition. "

my friends brother used a mushroom to try and reduce his tumour this was about 16 years ago. We ended up unindated with the mushrooms (sorry cannot remember the name of it) but we grew them in buckets and split them up (they sort of looked like poppadums) and we would peel them apart to start a new bucket,  we would drink the  juice which was not unpleasant. I will try and get in touch with my friend to see if she remembers the name of it

just googled yours and although the picture is not very good it looks different the one we used was about the same size as a chappati and grew in layers we would peel them apart to split them up

Thanks-I'm going to give this a try. It may not do any good....but it won't do any harm! The girls on my American cancer forum have been raving about this-although with all the meds we tend to be on, it's difficult to know at times what produces what result.

there was a story on This Morning today about how eating normal mushrooms daily cut the risk of breast cancer for women good luck its worth the try

I already have advanced (metastatic) breast cancer, so it won't help me there! But am intrigued by the claim that certain mushrooms can inhibit tumour growth.....which is just what I need!

Richard just reminded me that we used to grow them in a bucket of tea so I googled mushroom tea and found quite a few other sites www.erowid.org had a recipe for mushroom tea but not for growing that specific mushroom will keep trying
