Manta Ray a l'Anglaise

Mouli

I bought a Mouli several years ago, we used them at college and then I spent a lot of years using a Kenwood liquidiser, but I much prefer the mouli, I've also got a baby food one which is handy for small quantities, it's quite old and the sieve is a bit worn, I think that came from a Brocante in France.

I bought one of these last year, about 10 euros I think, I was having trouble with mashing pots using our masher.

However, whilst in the UK in July, I bought a Lakeland Sputnik "roll and rotate" potato masher.  Just looked for a photo but it's no longer in their range.
It's brilliant, and so easy to use......

Manta Ray a l'Anglaise

I don't use the mouli for potatoes, but for soups and such like, my son's girlfriend is now living with us and she doesn't like the texture of onions (- doesn't mind the taste) so sauces with onion go through the mouli. It's also great for pate, means I don't have to trim the liver (pate recipie coming up soon)  q21
