Letting off steamI keep losing the web pages on the forums I am trying to use.
It's driving me crazy :shock: :shock: :shock: Each time it happens, I lose all the latest posts :(
It's something I live with...but it still drives me crazy.

So, if I don't respond to something you would think I might, it's not me being rude..it's me screaming :roll:

What do you mean you keep losing the pages? Is it because you disconnect?
Not sure what to suggest, being on dial-up is a pain in the neck. You could get another phone line for calls and then keep the Internet on for 12 hours a day! :idea:

Think the same would happen, even if you close a page by mistake? It's maddening, I know.
If it's because of dial up though, we'll have to install you in a little cubby hole near enough to your closest broadband exchange!
(Jo-hope you've got broadband on your list of must haves for your new flat!?)

Oh yes Elaine, couldn't live without broadband... will be on the case as soon as I find somewhere! Will just carry on using my normal ISP, it will be easier than getting a new one. :D

I think what happens is there is a break in my connection, brief...but enough to log me out. So, the page begins to load slowly, gets stuck halfway..and then I refresh and I have no list of unread post, or get a message saying no posts meet my criteria.
This has just happened to me whilst trying to view this thread this morning :evil:
I'm having a slow and annoying time with all my forums this afternoon, unusually on the French one.
Elaine, the cubby hole would need to be at least a kilometre to the west....too far from my man :D
Jo, I have it on sometimes for ages anyway...not sure it helps.

I guess dial-up is so unstable compared to broadband now, it's weird you should have breaks in the connection though. Maybe it's more to do with Internet Explorer than the connection, have you got the most recent version?

Just so everyone knows Mum's computer has died now, she can't really do anything on it... have tried to help over the phone but wasn't much help!
Told her to steal Mark's PC so she maybe back later... :lol:
