Cupcake questionWhenever I make cupcakes or muffins the cases always start to come away from the cakes after about half an hour out of the oven. Has anyone got any idea why this happens and what I can do to stop it?

Do you put the cakes on a tray while baking, or in a muffin tray? Does that make sense? I use the paper cases, but put each one in the indentations in a muffin tray. Think the extra support this gives the cases, stops them from stretching. (Should have left this till the morning, in the hope that I could have explained it better!)

Hi there, thanks for the reply! Yes I do use a muffin tray when I bake them. They're always ok for the first half hour or so and then they start to come away from the cakes. It's so annoying because I just love making cakes and cookies and I canyt seem to get this simple thing right

You are probably just overcooking them a bit, muffins are quite soft when cooked not done cup cakes try reducing the cooking time by 2-3 mins
