Chopping herbsI tend to snip mine up with a scissors, but how do you do yours? I've been thinking about buying one of those mezzalunas but I bet there's a knack to doing it and I don't want to waste my money really...are they difficult to get the knack of?

I use scissors too. I don't think it would be safe to let me loose with big choppy types of things!

I have a mezzaluna but the curved chopping board that came with it fell to pieces after I put it in the dishwasher :?
Anyway, if I want the herbs roughly chopped I still use the mezzaluna on an ordinary board but if I want them finely chopped I use my hand-held blender as I have the attachment with a chopping blade in a cup (I'm sure there is a proper name for it). It is a useful attachment for small quantities of stuff like breadcrumbs rather than getting the food processor out.

Do you know, I've got that same attachment with my hand-held blender but have never used it!! Thank you for reminding me... what a brainwave!.. thank you.

I use an ordinary sharp knife, but would love to have the proper one on a board - and chop chop chop at considerably speed..........but I reckon I chop more things than I should!!!

I just put mine in a mug and snip away with scissors until they are fine enough.
