Cafe des Amis - CanterburyI went here last week with crazyfool and my friend and her other half... It's quite cosy and it's Mexican for all those that didn't get that from the name.
For starters we all shared a nachos for 2 which was nice, probably could have eaten more though... We ordered a bottle of vino as well which to be honest I didn't think much of.
For main I chose Confit of Duck with Mole Sauce, the sauce was made up of chocolate, chilli, sesame seeds and something else I can't remember. With this I had sour cream mash and a mango salsa. It was quite spicy which I don't like so I wasn't that impressed... Daniel ate the salsa and I tried to eat the duck and mash without the sauce! The others had chicken fajitas which from the way they demolished them were obviously very nice.
For dessert I had a strawberry sorbet which was lovely, although I don't think I ate it all... just too much! can't remember what the others had.
The bill came to just under £100 for the 4 of us for food and drinks, so not bad. I think I would have something else if I ever went back...

An odd name for a Mexican restaurant!

Yes I would have thought Cafe des Amigos at least.

This is Mark's favourite restaurant in Canterbury.....although it's years since we've/he's been. I liked it too, although we didn;t ever go as a couple.
The food can be spicey, but I know I've eaten food that isn;t too spicey in there. Hmmm, Cafe des Amis is definately not Mexican sounding
