Breadmaker disaster!

Made a chocolate bread/cake in the breadmaker yesterday, followed the recipe from the actual instruction manual... Anyway it hardly rose and it tasted like cardboard, nothing like the chocolate I was looking forward too!

Any ideas what I can do with it so as not to waste it?? I was thinking some kind of bread and butter pudding?! q9

Use it as a base for trifle.
Soak it in fruit juice, or in the juice from a tin of fruit.
Place in the bottom of a trifle size bowl, make some of your fav flavoured jelly. Pour the jelly over the chocolate bread. Just before it has set, put in the fruit you have used the juice from.
Then, when it is really, solidly set, makes some thick custard, allow to cool with a sprinkling of castor sugar over the top to avoid too much skin.
When very cool, pour over the custard and refridgerate. Just before serving, whip up some double cream in stiffish peaks, add a little caster sugar as your nephews are coming. Decorate with chocolate buttons (not coloured stuff like Smarties q11 ) and serve to your ghuests when they come on Sunday.

Well yes that is a good idea but they're not coming here, we're meeting them down the beach and then going back to Dad's for dinner! Plus I don't have any of those ingredients... q5

You could try this using the chocolate bread instead of plain bread and chocolate.

You could always toast it? With peanut butter....

Thanks Angie, might give that a go when I'm feeling better...

I was thinking about toasting it Elaine, I have honey I thought that might be ok! q9
