If you like red wine then a very reasonably priced one from Lidl is called Tarragona, Gran Reserva, 2000. It is medium dry with good body.

I do not like red, but have lots of whites and roses that I love.
White:
Sancerre
Pouilly Fuisse
Chablis
Rose:
White Grenache (yes it is pink!)
Rose D'Anjou

Hungarian Tokai - white (also spelt with a j in places) - hard to find, really pricey but has to be my all time favourite for depth of flavours.   They also produce a sweet wine for desserts.

I have been drinking the White Grenache recently and it's very nice, and not badly priced at all...
