Serves 6
You need:
1 cup self-raising flour
2 tbsp cocoa
60g (2 oz) butter
½ cup castor sugar
1 egg, beaten
½ cup walnuts, cut into small pieces
½ cup milk
SAUCE
¾ cup brown sugar
4 tbsp cocoa
2 cups boiling water
A little icing sugar
Method:
Preheat oven to 190°C/375°F.
Sift the flour and cocoa. Cream the butter and castor sugar. Add egg and walnuts, mix well. Stir in flour, cocoa and milk. Pour into a pudding dish.
For the sauce, mix brown sugar and cocoa, and sprinkle on top of mixture in dish. Pour boiling water gently over the pudding. Bake in preheated oven for 45 mins. Dust lightly with icing sugar.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with ice-cream or cream. |
