Waiting to go shopping on payday, which is Wed/Thurs...and all I have in the freezer and store cupboard are larger packs of meat for more than 2. We have visitors arriving next Sunday, through until the following Monday, so want to keep what I have to feed them on.
I have run out of fresh veg, and no shops are open here on a Sunday.
So...here's my list

6 Slices Back Bacon
Onions several
Frozen Broccolli/Cauliflower/Petit Pois/Haricots Vert
Pasta/Rice/Potatoes
Large Tin Tomatoes
Several Eggs
plus various other bits and pieces

???????????

You could make a vegetable rice thing or something similar with pasta! How long has all that got to last you, till Thurs?

Watch out chickens......

Could make it stretch to a few meals

Sort of paella, but missing the seafood/chicken.
Pasta bake
Use tin tomatoes/some veggie, and couple of rashers of bacon to make a soup of sorts. Can you find some lentils lurking in the cupboard for lentil soup?

I can buy a few more things tomorrow...to last till payday..it's just today I'm stuck.
Rice thingy sounds nice.....there's a pack of mixed med veg in there too, I might add that to rice and the bacon cooked and chopped.
:D
I have 6 Duck Legs, a Joint of Pork, some lamb chops etc, just seems a waste for 2 of us...we've already had lamb twice this week
I get a bit carnivorous, so may have to eat the duck legs later in the week

Soup...I have a couple of frozen portions of soup in the cupboard, and have some packet mixes of soup too.
I was only listing a few ingredients for the Ready Steady Cook theme

Didn't tell you about the large pack of frozen prawns I'm defrosting

Okay, okay...I feel a paella coming on......I even have 2/3rds of a pack of Arborio Rice

Me too Jo-I thought we were going to have to send a food parcel over! Now that I've thought of paella, I'll do one during the week...yummy.

We have food, don't panic pease
Just wanting to do something nice...and not so meaty, since we've had meat several times this week. I could have done beans and egg on toast, or an English Breakfast...we won't starve.

Anyway, Paella is cooking as I type.
Made with large gambas, 2 slices of ham chopped, 2 pieces of white fish in pieces, some chopped cooked lamb, vegetables, onions and garlic. Fish broth made with the disregarded prawn shells, heads and legs :? , the only seasoning in the recipe I used was a tsp of paprika and some saphron. I had no saphron (and I don't think it matters too much).
Also meant to put in a cup of dry white wine, we have no white wine.
I'll let you know the verdict in about 45 mins

Wel...it looked fantastic, yet lacked ( from me anyway) enough flavouring.
Bearing in mind paella is meant to be salty...I had to add salt and pepper.
I think, because there were no salty shell fish in there, only less potent fish. Rice cooked well, and I'll cook it again, when I have the proper ingredients :D
Mark enjoyed it :D

Most of the food I cook never has enough flavour, something I need to learn! Glad Mark enjoyed it, although he likes pretty much anything doesn't he?!
