Dan introduced me to this, it's actually quite nice! I've always hated cider due to the fact I used to get very drunk on it when I was younger but the pear is growing on me...
Anyone else like this? _________________ Positive Change |

I still have a bottle in the fridge, wish I felt well enough to drink it... maybe tomorrow!! Had to stop dan from drinking it last night! _________________ Positive Change |

Pear Cider's proper name is Perry - remember Babycham? The Champagne Perry?
Traditionally Perry is bit easier to drink than Cider because it doesn't have such a high alchohol content, although pears are sweet they also contain unfermentable sugars, so the alchohol content only gets to somewhere between 3 & 5% whereas cider will ferment out to maybe 9%. It also means that the resulting drink will be sweeter than the traditional dry Cider.
Perry orchards are getting few and far between now, a lot of them have been grubbed up.
Am I going on?. . . . . . _________________ life is just one damned thing after another. . . . |

I love cider. I agree pear is very nice and refreshing. I really like Kopparberg Pear Cider (swedish).
