1/2 jar of 4 cheeses pasta sauce
200g of grated cheese
1 slice of ham
Eggs
Copious young spinach leaves (still in garden)
Bearing in mind, I'm not keen on omlettes, and am bored with the run of the mill Ham and Cheese stuff which is common in France. :D

Do you like tartiflette ? from Haute Savoie region !
boiled or par boiled potatoes sliced, cream or cremefraiche, cheese, bacon chopped and cooked or ham, onions sliced and fried
place ingredients in ovenproof dish cover with sliced or grated cheese season with pepper as usually already salty enough bake until bubbling serve with wine and french bread
it varies according to what I have either fresh or leftovers I'm sure the cheese sauce would work too we often have it for lunch :D
Enjoy

Sounds lovely Gilly.
Failing that eggs florentine is virtually on your plate with those ingredients.
(I love omlettes. Love to do a traditional Spanish tortilla too in warm weather and eat it cold. Yummy)) |

Spinach Squares
32 ounces of chopped spinach
1/2 finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons butter
4 large eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
3 cups soft breadcrumbs
2 or 3 cups diced cooked ham
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
Cook spinach accordingly, drain well. Cook onion in the butter in a separate container over medium heat until tender. Combine beaten eggs with milk, breadcrumbs, ham, cooked onion, spinach and seasoned salt. Spread in an ungreased 9" square baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until set. A knife inserted into the centre should come out clean.
Serve spinach squares with hot cheese sauce
You have only allowed for a slice of ham, so I guess you will need to ration yourself with this ingredient, and there is a couple other ingredients here as well. Now I can't comment on its taste, as I haven't tried it, but something I would like to try, not sure what I would serve it with though, if anything  |

These all look great and I can't chose
I'll just have to start at the top and work down.
Thanks for them all....quite a cheap dish really...specially as I have the ingredients hanging around in the fridge.

I had some mushrooms left from last night, but decided to go with the original ingredients.
It was lovely, we had it with a baked salmon fillet. There is some left...sofar...but I think Mark will go and snaffle it quite soon.
Thanks.
Still loads of grated Emmental and spinach and eggs...so onto another suggestion tomorrow.
Elaine...what is Eggs Florentiene? I know I should Google, but I thought you might have a nice recipe you want to post   |
