Italy
You may not have heard of it but Selfridges fresh food buyer Andrew Cavanna's top foodie fest is the Bra Cheese Festival in Piemonte so it must be good. It's one big cheesey party where the streets of the medieval town are ripe with the smell of thousands of artisan varieties.

UK
After London, Ludlow has more Michelin-starred restaurants than any town in the UK. It also does a fine line in pork pies, cider, pickles, preserves and cake, all of which will be on offer at the Ludlow Marches Food Festival.

Spain
You wouldn't necessarily want to stay in the Galician resort of O Grove - a sort of smaller Spanish Blackpool - but it's well worth a visit for the Fiesta de Exaltacion dei Marisco, a showcase for the best seafood in Europe.

Sweden
