That'll teach me to post something without double checking it first-thanks Jo!

Harrogate is fabulous Gill-lucky you! We're off to Middleham in Wensleydale for two weeks next month, so will doubtlessly find our way to Betty's once or twice!

Yes we are lucky at the moment I am looking out over Morecambe Bay can just see Ingleborough, Hubbies first priority when job hunting is where it is ! we have been here for 4 years before that Pateley Bridge and before there Scarborough and before there Ambleside I feel very priveleged to live here though the children wouldn't like it no neighbours or takeaways though they love to visit, nice to get over to Harrogate for a change  and get some retail therapy

We used to have a caravan and took it quite often to the site in Pateley Bridge! Loved to clamber around Brimham rocks-one of the most amazing places we've ever been.Ambleside too is lovely(nice and handy for the Lakeland HQ!)We were self catering last autumn closeby, in Bassenthwaite. Can't you tell that we love the north!

Gilly, we're here through work, but Scottish born and bred, so we do tend to miss the rougher, wilder terrain of the north. It's just too flat here! Anyhow, we holiday either Yorkshire or the Lakes whenever we can, and would do so more often if we could. It's just too far to be feasible for a long weekend-although we have managed Exeter-Wetherby in just over 5 hours(but that was when the world cup was on and we had the roads to ourselves!)

Northumberland too is lovely-Hexham's a nice little town.
