I got this recipe from the back of a book that Laura lent me, they sounded yummy and they really are!!
(Makes 16)
Ingredients:
220g Unsalted Butter
1 vanilla Pod
280g Soft Brown Sugar
4 Tablespoons Golden Syrup
Pinch of Salt
60g Cocoa Powder
300g Large Rolled Oats
Method:
1. Melt butter in saucepan, take off heat and scrape vanilla seeds into pan. Drop pod in too and leave to infuse for half an hour. Remove pod and put pan back on low heat, then add sugar, syrup, salt and cocoa. Simmer and stir for 5 minutes. Add oats and mix together.
2. Pour flapjack mixture into baking tin and pay down to a thickness of 3/4 inch. Bake for 25 minutes at 150C. remove from oven, cut into squares and cool on wire rack. _________________ Positive Change |

They don't need a choc topping Elaine, they are already mainly chocolate! _________________ Positive Change |

Thats a fine recipe. I'll try it and add some extra chocolate because I like chocolate.
