|
|
This was made up by me, with a little help from my Mum!
Ingredients
8oz Self Raising Flour
4oz Granulated Sugar
4oz Butter
Sprinkle of Allspice
4 Cooking Apples
Some Strawberries
Dessert sp of Museli
Method
Peel and slice apples and place in an ovenproof dish, slice the strawberries and mix them in with the apples. Sprinkle some granulated sugar and allspice over the top. To make the crumble mix the flour and sugar and rub in the butter with hands until it resembles crumble! Bash up some museli in a pestle & mortar or in a bag with a rolling pin, mix that in with the crumble mix. Put this crumble mix on top of the fruit and bake in the over (about 150 degrees) for about 45 mins.
I must say it is very yummy, just tried it when it came out of the oven!!! Yummy!!!! _________________ Positive Change |

Sounds good! I usually add oats to my crumbles-which probably gives it the same kind of crunch that muesli would do.It also gives me the justification for having a small portion, on the grounds that there's not TOO much flour in it |

It's ok, I said that to him when he said it...
Got some pears from work today, so will make something with them this week if I have time! _________________ Positive Change |

No - I reckon the crumble was fantastic - it is one of my favourites, especially if you get the measurements right. I have not tried strawberry & apple, but will definitely give that a go.
Try also, rather than granulated sugar, Demerara, it gives a super crunchy feel and taste. Also what is a good combination is apples and pears together. Ought to try that too.
And of course apple and blackberry crumble.....we have been fortunate enough to have bushes in the garden for the fruit, and unfortunate it is a bloomin nuisance.
